Dorm Beauty: May Flowers

Ah, finals are over.
I've moved across campus for the summer and have a few weeks off from classes.
So, I've had a little bit of time experiment and try some new things, so let's go!

1. Smudge Pot in Back to Basics by e.l.f.
This thing is pretty cool. It's very easy to put on and can be used as an eyeshadow or eyeliner! This color is a golden tint, but what I like best about this that the way it stands out is really cool. It's not overly shimmery, but it's bold enough to define lines. I usually wear this when I'm sporting neutral colors because it makes my eyes pop. The picture shows the actual product and what it looks like on my hand as a shadow and liner, but if you'd like, I could show you what it looks like on eyes (rather than a hand)!

2. Wonder Hangers
Since I'm an RA during the year, I get my own room which means I get two, full sized closets. For the summer, I'm a CA, or Continuing Ed. Conference Assistant, and after having to move across campus, my new room is getting set up nicely. One of the downsides is that my closet is a lot smaller. Something my mom got me my freshman year was a box (or two) of Wonder Hangers. They're a little weird to explain, but I'll do my best! The main piece has 5 indention's and each indention holds a hanger. On the ends of the main piece are hooks. What's cool about this is that you can hang it by both ends to pick which item you want and then take end down to flatten and make more room. If you still don't follow my crazy explanation, just check out the pictures above! These are amazing! I'd be in a bit of chaos without them!

3. Beautiful Day from Bath and Body Works
This is by far one of my favorite fragrances of all time. It's a little flowery, but it seriously is the best scent that captures spring and summer. While I was out one day with one of my best friends, Vero (short for Veronica, obviously.. :P ), I had asked her for some lotion. She had some of the body cream in this and I really dug it! I ended up getting the travel sizes (lotion, body wash/shower gel, and mist) from a coupon I had gotten and after giving it a test round, I LOVED IT. I've only had for a couple of weeks and it's going fast!

4. Black Satin by OPI
This probably doesn't help because it was a limited edition color, but I'm absolutely obsessed with this! The color is obviously a black, but I guess what draws me to it is that it's a little metallic-y with a hint of shimmer. Black nail polish for me is a must. It goes with everything, stands out, and really helps me have fun experimenting with designs. I know it's summer and that usually means bright, flowery colors, but black is an anytime color! If you can get your hands on this color, don't miss the chance! It's absolutely gorgeous and is climbing the top of my favorites list!

5. Conair Pin Twirls (or Spin Pins)
Holy. Cow. I was soooo skeptic about these and they're now one of my absolute favorite things. If you don't know, I have naturally curly hair that, at times, can look like a monster is nesting on my head. Sometimes it just gets in my way because it's at an awkward length (I'm in the process of trying to grow out my hair, but I've had it short for so long that it has no idea how to react...). Hair elastics are great, but sometimes, I don't want to use them...especially if I'm putting my hair up for an important occasion. All you really do is style your hair they way you want and twirl the pin in. Be sure to practice with it a few times to get used to it and figure out the way it works. I highly recommend these and are a great investment!

I hope you all had a lovely month!
